Crossing disciplinary boundaries: English-medium education (EME) meets English for Specific Purposes (ESP)

Framed against the backdrop of internationalization higher education, this paper argues for need to cross disciplinary boundaries and build stronger bridges between domains English-medium education ESP/EAP, particularly at a time when English-taught programmes seem challenge status quo ESP professionals. To end, article will first briefly describe objects study – ESP/EAP EME map out relationship two. Secondly, description what are called ‘diverging zones’ these two educational approaches be developed. In section, major differences in curricular goals, way English is conceptualised, students’ teachers’ profiles, as well pedagogical practices developed examined. Thirdly, section entitled ‘converging look into some contact points theories so that possible gaps bridged.
